BEWARE OF AL MAKKI RENT A CAR IN MATAR QADEEM
I would like to share my experience with a rent a car shop in matar qadeem we have rented a car last 27, of febuary 2009 a mitsubishi lancer we pick up the car at around 4 pm in the afternoon after a month we return the car and upon inspection there a scrach in left side rear end door wich u can only notice if you touch it it is un notice just buy looking. I have tried to explain that i have not noticed that when we got the car. and I had nno accident for that matter
Any way just to make the story short the [removed by mod as it's irrelevant] guy said that he will not take the car that i have to pay 1,800.oo for the scratch then i told him that i lost my job and i dont have the money to pay for that. So he said that he will not accept the car in that condition
so I told him that i will take it to make repairs and had an agreement that he will not charge me for the days that it will be under repair.
I it takes 6 days for the repairs cause i have to raise the money then I have returned it in a good conditon when i tried to return the car to him and ask me wher i have sent the car for repairs i told him in one of the NBK shope who repairs Marcedes and other well known cars because I have a friend their but he does not want to accept it again he is saying that it he wants ir repair in mitsubishi shop I told him that is just a scrach and he did not even look at it to see if it is fine.
When he sees it he is trying to point out another things
then he told me to pay the 6 days that it was in the repair shop in the end i just end up paying more so just want to share this story to those people who will rent a car that be careful I just like highway robery here in qatar.
check everything before renting a car find a reasonable shop or just avoid renting any agreement put it in writting because like this guy he said that he will not charge me but when i came there he just change his mind and charge me anyway guys like this dont have the discency to honor their word.
I have rented my car from U-Save car rental, they are very professional and flexible to deal with.
During servicing, they collect the car from their door step and drop it back.
I decide to rent a car from the Car Maxx but from the stories told by our friends here made me kind of worry. I better not rent a car in Doha
I have the perception that most rent a car companies in doha are day light robbers. I just had a similar experience with Euro Dollar (big company???)
Paid a few hundred extra then what i was getting at other companies just so that there would be professional dealing. turned out the professionalism ends at the time of returning the car.

To my knowledge...one of the best Rent a Car service in qatar is - "Regency Fleets Rent-a-Car". I had rented from Regency fleets couple of times and they had very lenient and safe procedures while lending a car for rent.

I would say its an awesome place to deal with. VERY TRUSTWORTHY.
These companies doesnt own all of thier vehicles in real terms some friends will be making small investment to buy a car and hand it over to them to be used for rental that is why as and when these cars are involved in an accident they are in trouble so the simply try to pass on the trouble to their customer.
They always rent thier vehicles after keeping your passport in thier custody. To avoid such circumstances as snowstorm rightly said pls inspect the car before taking it in the presence of the guy and notify those scrathes and dents and ask him what if some accident happend and better to document it in the Agreement.

I had earlier rented a car from UNITED CAR RENTALS.They give good service and very easy to deal with.I had given the reference to few of my friends,they tried with them and everyone was happy dealing with them.You may contact on 4503333 and ask for the sales team.Or try on 5874282
you should always sign off a checklist prior to renting the car to avoid such problems in the first place. Anyway this is really a rude way to treat a customer.

from my 3 experiences renting car while am in doha, i never had a problems. they gave me a good car and am happy.

Khanan Just a bad experience with this company when I came to Qatar over 2 years ago and was recommended by a colleague to rent from them..
The car was involved in an accident and these guys acted very unproffessional, never witnessed any thing like this in my life.. I have rented all over the world never experienced any thing like this.
Normally all the big companies in Qatar just ask for an access of QR1000 or similar if involved in accident and thats it.. However these cheats not only asked me to pay for 20% for parts, but also dileberately kept the car with Honda for one month after the repairs were done and tried to charge me for one month rent claiming loss of earning.
I just hope that you dont get invloved with any accident.. thats all. The young guy acted and behaved like a real prick.
So now I only rent from the big companies not cowboys companies like this..

this is how these rental car ppl make money... so cheap and then they sell the car for a good price after pulling out every bit of money from that car....
Moral of the Story is don't rent for the small companies.. Always rent from big companies..
