it is one of the biggest competition in world, the total prize is 80000US$ each participant get one tea table book worth more than 200QR, it is sponsor by HE shaikh Soud bin Mohamad bin ali althani and organized by Qatar Photographic Society

edifis YES althani are in art also, do you now how is the idea of culture village and Qatar Islamic museum and Doha land and so on i will let you now

snofsam I am trying to say that as far as I know, Al Thanis may be good ruling family but they are not so well known for their photographic skills.

Yes. I entered a photographic competition arranged by the Qatar Photographic Society in 2007 and for my prize I won coffee table book of the photos submitted for the previous year's Al Thani Award. That year it was won by a woman, Abeer, who told me she was planning to open a photographic studio in Souq Waqif.I think the Qatar Photographic Society will have all the details. When I last accessed their site, everything was in Arabic only, and so are their meetings. Pity
