QIC Insurance: What About This "Policy Excess Amount"?

I am insured in QIC with comprehensive insurance, I just made a claim for a repair from a minor damage in my vehicle, instead of giving me the amount to repair my car they gave me a garage to bring my car for repair and after the work has been done I got my car and all, this garage is calling me asking for an amount as "policy excess amount". They just changed the part with a scrap one and it was not brand new, am I supposed to pay this? Or they just wanna pull a fast one on me along with this QIC employee who first contacted me using this garage owner's mobile?

Check the T&Cs of your contract with QIC. If it says you have to pay an excess then it will state how much.

Tell them to ask QIC. You should not pay anything to them.
