The Protector

I got a job offer and will be moving, together with my family, in Doha by the end of May 2009.

I just wanted to know how the CID Police or the Qatar Government in general, are handling the various incidents, say if the non-Qatari people human rights were violated?

Can we expect to get a fair treatment from them? Can we rely and go to CID and report the details of what had happened?

Who will be our civilian protector at the end of the day?

Any other authorities aside from CID and local embassy where we could lodge complaints?

Thanks

yeah thats right, just follow the rules and you will be fine. If did something out of hand happens dont be shy to ask help from police/your embassy/human right department/labor department.

Congrats on the job offer and hope you can make it to Qatar.

Everybody is right everybody is wrong, it depend where you stand

Thanks, somwer. I appreciate that.

It's just that sometimes even if we don't do something stupid, there would be people who would choose to be stupid by implicating unnecessary things to harm others.

I would take note of your comment regarding our local embassy. Loud and clear! :)

Thanks much!

we can rely on them don't worry (CID/police). as for the local embassy, well.... ummmm.... hehehehe.... what were you asking? hehehehehe just keep this in mind, to avoid having problems, just do your work and be honest with it, as long as you don't do ANYTHING stupid or contrary to the laws here in qatar you'll have smooth sailing.

BTW, congratulations and good luck! Welcome to Doha!
