QR Grade 6 Job Offer -Good?
Hi everyone,
I recently received an offer from Qatar Airways' corporate planning team:
- Basic Salary 8000 QAR
- Housing Allowance 2500 QAR (or grade 6 Accomodation)
- Transportation Allowance 600 QAR
My (somewhat ridiculously limited) background:
- This will be my first job after graduating college (Bachelor's degree in business from a top 10 US school)
- Aged 22
- no prior work in aviation apart from a network planning internship with a Saudi Arabian airline.
Does that sound reasonable? Any idea what the housing allowance will entail? I hear that Grade 6 and above do not have to share accommodations. Is that true and, if so, what sort of space should I expect?

It seems okay. I also got a job offer from Qatar airways recently - Job grade 7. But the total salary package I'm offered is not differ that much from your offer. The total is 13,800.00
Basic 9000.00
Housing 3500.00 (No option for Company Accommodation)
Transportation 1000.00
Utilities 300.00
I have more than 10 years experience in the airline industry and a collage graduate.
I need your honest opinion on this from those who work there or have better info . . . I need to make a decision soon.

For a new graduate that's a really good offer. If you don't have anything better on the horizon, you should jump at the chance!
In this economy, it is good for a fresher...stick around for a year or two, then you can move on to something which pays better..

well it looks like a good deal...
from your housing allowance...you can get a single room in a sharing flat or villa. for your transfo its a little bit small.... but all in all.... great deal

I think it sounds good for a new graduate in this economy! Your transportation allowance is low but your housing is worth a great deal if you indeed have an apartment to yourself. QR will be a good entry for you into the business world. Good luck and welcome.
