Opening a bank account?

Hi there - I know that this has been asked before but was wondering if anyone has updated or new information to offer. I need to open a bank account here as I will be working for a Qatar company rather than my current UK one. I will need a local bank account to pay for my apartment etc and would welcome some advice. I will need to be able to transfer money on a monthly basis back to the my UK account.
Any recommendation would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Dont worry its very easy to open a bank account once you are here in Qatar. Usually the company you will join will advise you to which bank you should go where they can send your sallary directly and they will also arrange it for you, otherwise they will give you a letter and you can open an account with any bank of your choice. My experience is CBQ Commercial Bank Of Qatar when I arrived I got my bank account opened in one day with check books and ATM card delivered to me personnaly on the third day and I never have to visit the bank even once. This bank has a very good internet banking servise no problem in transferring money anywhere there phone number is 449 0000 in Qatar.

well there are many banks to choose from...

Each with something nice and something bad....

If you want to open a no pain in the haead account go for al khaliji 4940000

If you want to open an account with easy access like internet etc. go for Doha bank 4456000

those are the 2 bank i have accounts with, so you can try your luck with them
