Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1973)
To the real Jonathan Livingston Seagull who lives within us all.
Featuring the voices of Richard Crenna, Kelly Harnon, Hal Holbrook, etc.
Directed by Hal Bartlett
A seagull tries to soar high and breaks his own barriers by leaving his own flock, meeting a different set of 'people' and explores things by himself.
An almost perfect screen adaptation of the bestselling novel by Richard Bach, Neil Diamond's soundtrack doesn't help the truly amazing and excellent photography of the scenes. No computer generated effects. Only the camera capturing the seagull flying high above everywhere. Probably had been better if it's either John Denver or James Taylor who may've made the soundtrack.
I thought the book of Jonathon Livingston Seagull was sentimental mush. Way too sappy.
And they all have a moral or environmental message..
I prefer Steven Seagull. His movies are great.
1973? aww,... :P
