In Souq Waqif you can get a lot of the traditional Arabic decorations. Just walk around and there are plenty of shops that sell wonderful things. There is a traditional Bedouin style of weaving called Sadu that features triangular shapes woven on a usually red striped cloth. It is very nice, and a traditional decoration for the house. You can have cushions, carpets, or wall hangings.
You can also buy Persian carpets for the floor.
Another item that is found in most Qatari (And Saudi/Gulf) houses is the Mabkharah (Or Mijmar), which is an incense burner. They usually have four points extending out of them (sometimes 5) and sit on a four sided base, and they can be made out of wood, ceramic, or metal. Another popular item is the Arabic coffee pot.
You can buy the Arabic swords, or Saif, to hang on the wall. Many people also hang Bedouin rifles on the walls.
