APARTMENT IN PEARL QATAR,VIVA BAHRIYA
I had purcahsed a atudio apartment in pearl qatar, viva bahriya in 2006 through the company ERA QATAR,its located in bin omran area opposite alahli hospital. The deal was to pay 35% in equal instalments for a period of 3yrs till completion and balance 65% had to be paid in full upon handing over the keys of the apartment, now all installments had been paid and when i called to find out when the apartment will be ready, they said by may 2010, yesterday i went to the project site and although one portion porta arabia is almost on the verge of completion but the viva bahriya site is just an empty land.If anyone knows whats the legal procedure to be done in case the project is delayed for an extra 1year and considering the financial crunch and liquidity problems will the project be completed even by 2010
UDC has announced at their AGM that the project is on tract.

Hello Dear,
Yes i totally agree, investing in QATAR is a total risk in itself, the country doesnt know its law to its backside.
Im making my 4th trip to Doha this week from UK to see if i can get my money back from an investment i made in Lusail via the Fraudster company of DAMAC.
In true essence if you are to invest go with Qatari Diar, they make the rules as they are supported by the government.
I need to find a local attorney but i have also taken my case to parliement to stop Brits like me getting ripped off.
All the best.
Investing in property in Qatar is a huge and unprotected risk due to the immaturity of the real estate industry as well as to the lack of transparency and adequate legislation to protect the consumer.
In a “normal country” you would be compensated for any delayed occurred. Please check the terms of your contract and if delays are addressed there, proceed accordingly with the assistance of an attorney. If there is no clause to protect you against delays, try to consult a local attorney to see if there is any way you can claim your compensation, after all the contract terms were not met and therefore damaged was inflicted on you by who ever you signed the Contract with.
Good luck to you, but please be aware of the risk you and some other innocent people put them selves into.
