Hello everyone!

I got an offer to work in Qatar as a dental assistant. I am from Germany and know that European earn quite a lot money over there.
They said, I should tell them how much I would like to earn...All I know is, that it should not be under QR30000 a months.
But how much is good for me???
Please help me!

Thank you,

Klarissa

I am a nurse here and know of Doctors earning around QR15,000 per month plus acc and transport. I think QR30,000 for a Dental Assistant is getting a little to wishfull!! I'm sure we would all be working as Dental Assistants out here if they paid that much!

As a nurse I earn a lot less that the Doctors and I think a salary of QR8000 is about right. Hope you find happyness in whatever you decide to do :)

I am from Germany as well and as long as you spend more than 181 days per year working and living outside of Germany it is tax free. I have been doing it for years now.

klari1985, taxes are from germany, so that's where you should ask.

There are NO taxes for expats in Qatar if they don't own part of a business.

I would say QR20K plus accomodation, plus annual flights, 21 plus annual leave, transport allowance then I think you should be Ok.. Or QR30,000 inclusive sounds about right for a position that you have mentioned.. Good luck we need good european health proffessionals here..

Klari, they are not going to tell you about the tax situation because it varies for citizens of different countries. It is up to you to find out what the tax laws are for a German citizen such as how long you have to be a Qatar resident, if you are allowed to continue to own property in Germany, how many days/weeks/months you must be out of your country to qualify, etc. Please do your homework, I don't want you to be unhappy here or make an unwise decision.

bleu I do not know about the tax payment at all...They just asked me to tell them what I would like to earn there, without telling me anything about tax and so on. Quite a pitty for me :-S

klari1985, QR13k pre-tax in germany may not be comparable to 13k here (would you pay the same taxes if you come here??)

QR30000 sounds a lot. What do you earn in Germany? As mandi said, if you're coming hear to earn money you'll want to get 25 to 75% more than that at least, plus housing, medical, flights, car allowance, schooling, ...

I do think they give me an accomondation, because I know that I will not find a flat under QR7000 over there...

Complicated, complicated...O_o

I dont think they will give u 30k per month, that's a lot for ur position even if u have 4 yrs experience.

Did u research? The most imp thing is that they give u accommodation and transportation, and I would request a 13k minimum per month.

Good luck!!
