To the Dude on the Corniche this Friday
Buddy, I don't know who told you that you look good in a wife beater (white tank top) and those blue swim trunks (with obviously no underwear underneath) but you don't.
This is an Islamic country and you should be forced to dress conservatively like the women are. If I have to go out on a 30 degree day with jeans to my ankles and shirt to my wrists, then so should you!
Personally I'm sick of the hypocrisy, seriously I see guys dressed like this all the time, why aren't they getting QL threads started about them?
My husband would agree with you there too.
Aaah "the crack of Dawn"....Brings back memories of an old girlfriend..
Edifis are they the ones that tie massive weights to their schlongs?

one of the techniques to cut expenses:
1. do not use underwear
2. share clothes. no need for male and female outfit. get things that fits both. usually ladies have much more clothes than men. SO. The male partner can utilize the female partner clothes.
3. on a side issue. no need for a 5 or 6 doors wardrobe. half the size is enough.
4. get a single bed instead of king/queen size. instead of sleeping side by side, get staked.
5. no need to shower at home. each to shower at boyfriend/girlfriend place

There is a funny episode about the Kumbh mela and the nanga sadhus. The powerful clans amongst the naked sadhus feel that it is there sole right to jump into the holy water of river ganges from one particular Ghat(paved river bank)at the crack of dawn on some auspicious day(they wait 12 yrs for this day) before anyone jumps into it. This act helps them to attain something.......something bla..bla.bla.... They carry swords too. The funny thing is some women from Colombia or Venezuela saw many nude men on the banks and thought it to be a nudist beach, so they undressed and went skinny dipping before the nude sadhus jumped in.Now this made the water impure and enraged the sadhus so much that they launched an allout attack. Luckily for her the police came to their rescue!
Alexa, that festival in honour of Lord Murugan. This festival is celebrated by Tamils only. We have some other name for the same God. I think it is another form of Shiva.
Alexa can you elaborate on that. I mean your last line on handling naked sadhu's(sp) in action!
warning: They are very dangerous bacause They have nothing to loose!
At least they're not pretentious.

Thats great, Alexa, Have a nice trip,
But one advice
When you land in India do not take anybodys advice/suggestions,Take a fat travel guidebook with you with you and trust your own senses!
But if you go to Prayag during Kumbh Mela you can see them live in action. But it is a hazardous place. I've been there during the mela!
Alexa! Where? Did you visit Prayag/Beneras?
Gypsy, You are lucky that you are not in India. You probably have not seen the naked sadhus(Holy men) in India! I have censored them because this is Qatar.
See this:
They buy and wear expensive clothes on a wrong season. LOL

:P
---------------------------------------------------------
I think you have me confused with someone who gives a sh1t.
It's always funny to see people wearing Coat and Tie during Summer and waiting for Taxi! Qatar must have a Summer Look Dress code as we have 50 Degree here during summer.
Well time to sleep now. Nice chatting ;)
No that is for me, myself and the ninja who lives in my wardrobe to see.
this is getting funnier......
That will be great! Can you try wearing it and post here in QL?
Hey now! 2 coats and ties could be fun.
Oh Yeah many people here seen having only Coat with out tie and some having Tie without coat! :D
'a pair of coat and tie' *sniggers*
Yeah! Arab who does not wear their National Dress Code... Do I have to mention their nationality?
The 'Civilized Arab'
Are you guys pointing Indian way of having long sleeve with a pair of sandals? or Civilized Arab wearing sharp shiny shoes and a pair of coat and tie? hehehe
LOL

I hate pointed shoes and too tight shirts on men... looks pretty ugly...

Did he have "plaid" shorts on ?
it was mardi gras weekend in sydney......perhaps he was celebrating.
ON THE SPOT FINE !!!!!
Dude - if you ever see me in ankle socks and sandals you have permission to shoot me. Never done it, never will.
There was an American chap in Ric's Kitchen on Saturday morning sporting a lovely sandal/sock combo though!
First casualty...
tallg wearing sandals with ankle socks.
Time to establish "The Fashion Police", on the spot fines for minor infractions , complete removel from public places for major offences .
Ngourlay - you will see many in shorts and tank tops in cornich looking for the fate..lol

Serves him right Ngourlay, serves him right.
I found out later that he'd been raped and left at the side of the road to his fate. To be honest, he was asking for it, showing off all that flesh.
I agree with you, Gypsy. And why is it that these men in shorts and tank tops are walking with women covered in black? Doesn't seem right.
Sorry, but I dont agree on the sandals bit..Whats the deal with mens feet having to be 'presentable"..as long as the toenails r cut?...or does EVERYTHING have to be magazine-pretty?Also,hide your "shame"?Grow up...teenage boys are embarrassed by the way their bodies behave and dont know how to deal with it for quite some time...the twittering girls we see all over town dressed to their nines, giving come hither glances to all is also just as sad (read: amusing) a sight..
LIVE and LET LIVE
Gals dont stare at us bleez. :)

Gypsy---just the typical double-standard activity happening again and again in this region.
because it's just there, and bulging?LOL!
Sorry no offense, but as for women, I feel uncomfortable with the scene (if ever) I met that dude in corniche.

I agree with you, i just roll my eyes when i see the husband in shorts and tank top and his wife is in an abaya.
Perhaps we need to mob them saying they are being disrepectful to our wives by showing us there male parts lol
lol gypsy...dont stare!,,,,,
Brit: And men should avert there eyes too, but sometimes it's just there!
Formatted: I think he was going for a walk.
Gyps what was he actually doin in Corniche? lol
I'm with SAMAEL on this.. Tight white cotton tops and sprinklers..
Gypsy: You should "avert" your eyes whenever "todger wiggling" takes place. Shame on you.
I was driving by a high school one day and a boy came out wearing a thobe with a very big very obvious tent in his thobe. I felt like yelling at him out of my window to "hide his shame!"
Where are the parents to tell him to put a book in front of it?
I'm going stand up in defence of sandals. Nothing wrong with them, as long as you keep your toe nails in check.
Agree with you on the todger wiggling though Oryx - no need for that in public. I've no problem with jubble kitten juggling though ;p (great terminology btw)
Yep I certainly dont want to see a guy with a belly and a sofa bum wearing shorts.....
cover up guys esp you ugly ones.....
oh and dont wiggle your todger around either....
i dont juggle the jubble kittens in their hammocks...
Hahhaahh funny :) Btw I mostly see men use pyjama sort of thing under their White thobe, I still have to see what you are complaining about :)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
CONFUSE ............ if you cannot convince!
i wouldn't complain... i promise

If a woman went through Villagio with a white dress and no underwear and everyone could see through it there would be an uproar, but a guy does it and it's no big deal.
Sandals are just stupid.
i'm all for white tops on women... i think it should be law... then they can run through the sprinklers to cool off and... *sigh*
TEA BOY!!!

Tatz LoL.....
I mean thobe with no underwear underneath ( i guess underewears are wore underneath only ..lol )
Funny !!!
And why is that guys can wear their shirts unbuttoned to their belly buttons? Do they really think I want a view of their hairy chests, buttons are sewed on to the shirts for a reason, not for show.
Yea the whole black robe thing kinda seems extrmely unpractical. I agree that is unfair that women are restrained on what they wish to wear and men aren't but that is the way of this silly little place isn't it?
I agree Alexa. Or at least make the thobes black so everyone's uncomfortable.
No, I do agree Gypsy. There's far too many inappropriately dressed guys around, of all nationalities. The guys with the hairy backs wearing body building vests make me want to retch.
Well that's what I was wearing (it was cold :P ) But common tallg, You see guys down there all the time in shorts and tank tops, why can they get away with it?
And If I see one more guy walking around in a thobe with no underwear underneath I'm going to freak. Dude it's white, when the light shines through I can see EVERYTHING! And it's not pleasant.
Yes, 1 in comparison to the dozens started about inappropritely dressed women.
Jeans to your ankles and shirt to your wrists? Come off it, they're not that strict! Knee length shorts and a t-shirt is fine.
lol Gypsy you just did start a thread
