Dresses an Indian can wear in Doha

Hi,

I am in India & will be shifting to Doha in June 09. I heard in doha Indians are not allowed to wear sarees or deep neck churidar because showing of skin is like breaking laws in Doha.

I want to know how far is this true? & I would also like to know what kind of dresses Indian ladies can wear in doha?

Thanks & Regards

To be honest, all Indian ladies wear Saris, and some look great. On the other hand some look awful as they show rolls of fat on their back and belly.

Now rest assured if a Westerner was showing their midriff, it would be frowned upon.

If you come here, wear your traditional dress but also be aware we dont like rolls of fat on anybody.

Never ever, your Indian attair is more respectable and is elegant as well as impressive that harms no sentimentalism of anyone in Doha as far as I knew for the past several years and am very proud of it. You are welcome to Doha with all your colourfull sarees, and there are several specialised saree show rooms are in here, that will take all your salary coz they are awesome and very beutifull., also chooridars, ask me not more, plus chollis, and the list goes, wearing pant is orthodox in here, but ladies they still manage to wear all mixed depends on their mood. So very good luck to you, and warm welcome to Doha, for enjoying your new endeavour and nice trip and fresh horizone that makes your whole life fantastic and fantabulous to live with us in the days to come and I wish you every best and wonderfull luck from the moment of your great landing in this soil.
