I was at the Villagio last week and there were people busy in there cooking and eating and working. I have renewed hope. This store was in the works and going to open any minute-before my husband was given this job. We have been here since Halloween and were researching Qatar back in August.
BTW, I recently visited LaCigale and was very impressed. The gourmet store, which I expected to be like the food corner of Marks and Spencer was NOTHING like what I expected. It was large, like a huge wonderful Deli with cheeses from all over(wonderful stuff!), prepared foods, meats, breads, pastries and all kinds of delicious little bits. I just bought a mini quiche to buy something and it was absolutely wonderful. It almost tasted like ham-OK, it really tasted like ham. I am SO going to splurge over there:)
That being said, I can't wait for D&D, and besides, it is much closer to me than La Cigale.

I have just asked a member of staff at the store. They are aiming to open the shop on March 25th.
Can't wait to see what fine goodies they have on offer.
I'm sure the prices will be sky high but what the heck.
Stork.
