A serie of attacks and reprisals between Sunnis and Shiites at a time when the government in Islamabad announced a ceasefire with radical Islamists in the province where yesterday happened another deadly attack

Objective is to promote escalation of violence in the country

A suicide attack during the funeral of a leading Shiite religious leaders in northwestern Pakistan yesterday caused at least 31 dead and about a hundred injured in the city of Dera Ismail Khan, where the applicant is interfaith violence.

The Shiite leader, Sher Zaman, was assassinated Thursday in the streets of the city by alleged activists of the radical Sunni majority. His funeral leaving the main mosque of the city when the bomb was infiltrated among the companions, making it explode immediately.

The attack followed a recurrent pattern in this type of action which aims to trigger an escalation of violence, with attacks and subsequent counter-attacks between armed groups of both communities.

Besides the death of Sher Zaman in the Northwest Frontier Province of the Shia community was targeted by a violent attack two weeks ago in Punjab, which caused 35 deaths.

While the attack of yesterday has not been claimed, was to be assigned to one of the most violent Sunni factions, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, which operates in line with the strategy of Al Qaeda and Taliban groups, either in Afghanistan or in the Pakistan.

According to eyewitnesses, the artery of Dera Ismail Khan where the attack occurred has become a scene of death and destruction. "Pieces of flesh spread in a huge puddle of blood" saw a bit across the street, a passer-by reported hearing by AFP.

After the attack yesterday, already more than 1,600 people have died since the summer of 2007 an outbreak of violence that includes the Al-Qaeda attacks against official targets and violence between Sunni and Shiite communities, which represents 20% of Pakistani population. The group of bin Laden is no stranger to interfaith conflict in this country, because advocates an extreme form of sunismo that justifies the implementation of Shiites.

The attack in Dera Ismail Khan succeeds in a border region of Afghanistan where the Taliban and refuge where some of the focus groups more radical Islamists. This region became the center of the political-religious violence in Pakistan since 2002, after the fall of the Taliban in neighboring country.

For several years the armed forces trying to defeat the Pakistani tribal militias and terrorist groups, but without achieving decisive results.

The government in Islamabad at the beginning of the week announced a peace agreement that was established in the application of Islamic law (the Shariah) in Swat in return for the cessation of hostilities by the fundamentalists. This region is in practice controlled by these groups since the summer of 2007, recalled yesterday the AFP.

A responsible government's Islamabd justified the peace agreement in Swat, presenting it as "a new principle, the possibility of the" strengthen its control "in that area. A strategy questioned by foreign observers to refer to the fact that the Pakistani Government did not have real success with any of your approaches to the problem of Islamic radicalization in the country.

The cycle will continue because the politicians want it to continue. As long as the ordinary citizen is preoccupied with these things, they don't focus on how corrupt and inept the government is.

For example: Pachistan (in my language)

The government and the religious leaders are to blame. The use these "illiterate" people as pawns to play out their own power games.
