Waste of time.....

I know, but the way the (mostly Land Cruiser but some Nativa and tonight Armada) drivers behave has just got me boiling. Usual stuff, lights, tailgating, swerving lane to lane, hopping over pavements, lane indiscipline..............

Why?
Doha is a small place, gaining an extra car or two's length in front is not saving you time just raising blood pressure for you and those around you.

Bah!

I Feel better now. ready to be civil to my family!!

The driving habits indicate severe problems in this society. Let's be honest. What does Qatar offer a 18 year old boy? Nothing! What can he do but drive like a monkey from one edge of the town to the other? Can he have a bi-sexual relation? No. Can he drink some beers with friends? No. What the Fu*k can he do? I have pity on these young guys. I wish they had had the chance to grow up somewhere else with "real" social interactions and challenges.

If you take into account that each family arriving purchases TWO cars and normally the big sort, there you go. But it's fun to meet at the traffic light or roundabouts all the mad drivers and *&$#@ that light-horn the whole way through. Plus the slow drivers, the lane-blind drivers/ lane invaders, the mobile phone addicts (yes, despite all new regulations there are masses of them), and the scary cats in big-traffic-blockers SUV's... lots and lots of fun driving here.

you really must be joking

its getting worse day by day

i need to go to work at other end of Doha and i have to take a round trip just to avoid the traffic in the middle of the city and even the out skirt is all messed up.

I have been here 6 years and I think it has got busier and worse! Are we driving in the same place?

Traffic has improved dramatically over the last 5 years. Now it is almost decent.
