Mumps anyone?

Amoud
By Amoud

A friend of mine currently has 3 boys at home with the mumps. All boys were vaccinated and received their boosters. Currently there is an epidemeic in Ontario Canada where they are doing mass vaccinations at universities, schools, hospitals etc.

Anyone have kids currently with the mumps, or just getting over them? Has anyone gotten them more than once?

DeeDee, if a baby or child's immune system is not developed enough to be able to process the antibodies inside a vaccination then it is pointless and stupid.

Now if we are to discuss the meaning of this word vaccinate then what is being done is not vaccination as by definition a vaccination is to inoculate with a vaccine to produce immunity.

It is proven that this is not being done. How is it that 20% of TB cases in Qatar had been 'vaccinated' and received boosters?

You would think so deedee, but the boys are all 5 years apart... and doesnt account for the mass outbreak of mumps in Canada recently either.... new strain perhaps?

I wonder if perhaps the vaccine they got as babies was somehow a bad batch and therefore did not adequately protect the children.

And I completely disagree with the vaccinations are stupid remark. Vaccinations have saved millions of lives.

Oryx, thats all well and good but many viral infections, such as mumps, are airborne and highly contagious. If you are in the vacinity of someone infected you are exposed, hygiene or not.

Good health will never be realized unless there is good hygiene (nothing about the poor lady with mumpy sons)

1. clean drinking water

2. good sanitation

3. good personal hygiene - washing and no spitting

that may explain partly why immunised people still get TB

Lol, you know it is kind of funny.... 1 kid coming down with them, rare. 2 kids, major coincidence but 3!!!! Now we have to wait to see if her youngest gets them also.

Doctors recommend but could not give a guarantee, but after immunization, chances are less that you will get sick...BUT chances are there on other side as well.

I was under the same impression Alexa, but her kids are super sick. There poor faces are so swollen I would have never recognized them. The 10 year old has been up all night the last 3 nights howling in pain and they havent eaten in days. ____________________________________________________

Just goes to show how stupid it is to immunize kids... I remember a pediatrician in Germany telling us that the whole thing was dumb. Babies immune systems cannot support it.... Their immune system is not developed enough...

I saw an article a while ago in the Gulf Times stating something about an outbreak of TB I think and that out of the people who had caught TB in Qatar 20% had been immunized and received all their boosters...

I am calling shenanigans on the immunization programs....

Maybe cause for concern if there is testicular swelling, its not 100% sure if it can or will cause male fertility problems.

It is a huge issue for her, 2 of her boys are post pubescent. This was a huge surprise to me as her children had the same health Canada vaccinations as my kids, and the same boosters and now she has 3 boys with the mumps. Apparently you are contagious a week before the swelling starts and 9 days after.... _____________________________________________________

I got mumps when I was very young , god it was horrible. However , I was led to believe that once you have had mumps it is very difficult to catch again .It can cause problems if a man catches them.
