my landlady doesn't want to give me back my deposit, where can I complain?

when I moved to one of the flats of my landlady as a bed spacer, she told me I can get back the deposit the moment I leave.

we agreed that I will give my paymet before 8th of the month...

so I paid her 1 month deposit and 1 month advance amounting to 1,600 QR

then after 1 month and two weeks I moved to her another flat cause my previous flat is too noisy and rent a room...

1 paid another 1 month advance and 1 month deposit amounting 5,400 QR.

she told me, although I stayed only 1 month and two weeks as a bedspacer in the previous flat, my deposit as a bedspacer were already consumed so I did not get any refund.

Then the master's bedroom were vacated by the previous occupant, I moved there...

she asked mo to pay another 1 month advance and 1 month deposit but I asked her to deduct my previous deposit ang she did...

so I paid 1 mont advance and 1 month deposit amounting to 7600 less my previous deposit of 2400

then after 2 months I left the flat and moved to another but, she told me she will give me my deposit...

but then again she told me she will not give the full amount... for what ever reason

and now when ever I send her sms asking for my deposit, she's saying bad words... she even said "I AM NOT PISSED, IF THERE IS A WORD THAT CAN DESCRIBE MORE THAN THAT IT IS MORE APPROPRIATE, NOW YOU UNDERSTAND HOW IT WAS FOR ME WHEN YOU'RE PAYMENT IS ALWAYS LATE"

as far as I remember, I always pay her 6th of the month when our agreement is to pay her before 8th of the month, there is once, ONLY ONCE, that my payment was late because I did not received my salary on time though.

by the way, the flat where I used to stay, her flat, the sink was licking for two months, I complained but it takes 2 months to be repaired. there was even an incidence that our electricity were cut. the electric oulets aren't working... WHO WOULD WANT TO STAY IN THAT KIND OF FLAT!!!

If you can't sort it amicably, then resort to using force. Either smack her about a bit until she realises you are serious or steal something to the value of the loss which you feel she has stolen from you...

not the best way by any means but it will solve the problem. Oh by the way make sure there is no one else around when you smack her or you could be in more trouble..

I agree with them. Consume your deposit and advance since you do not have the written agreement nor any receipt to prove your claim.

Talk to your landlady.

It seems that there's no written contract....right? as such, complaining without any official documents will not lead u to a solution.

Usually, many landlords keep the deposit as a penalty in case u left earlier the appartment.

Try to make a settlement with her otheriwse just go and threaten her, take with u a big knife!!!

(i hope that you're sane enough not to listen to me :p)

I symphatize with you.

Was there any written agreement for this 1 month advance and one month deposit then? Do you have any receipts of your payments for the amount (months advance and deposit)?

You should have this evidence to lodge a complaint to the municipality or to the police to reimburse to you your deposited money.
