Honeymoon over - Qatar's largest private bank

No more free atm cards from Qatar's largest private bank!!

Due to an expected increase in difficult conditions after their record earnings in 2008, their first attempt has been at charging a nominal fee of 50 qr for each debit card aka atm card. Basically, if you have a savings account and a current account, u r charged twice till u call back and ask for a refund of the second card..

Future measures may include but not limited to:
1. increase monthly statement charges to 100 qr for each month's statement (current or savings).
2. charges for telephone banking.
3. charges for visiting their branches. first visit may be complimentary for new customers after which they will be charged for each visit.
4. decrease credit card limits.
5. decrease interest rates.
6. increase personal loan and car loan and any other loan rates.
7. stop all new credit card applications. New credit card card applicants should have been in qatar for 5 years and earned 25000 qr salary throughout this period.
8. renewal of all credit cards may be subject to above policy.
9. additional charges for new cheque book. additional charges on top of it if collecting it at branch. even more additional charges if it is being sent to post box.
10. conditions mentioned in fine print to be made in even smaller printing so that sale of magnifying glasses will improve.

More to follow..

Time to move out of CBQ.

ATM debit card fee

Credit shield protection on credit card purchase

Unpaid balance service charge even when you pay it on time in full

thinking of the day when the bank will introduce charges for taking care of customer's money.. then there would be savings account annual charges, current account annual charges, dollar deposit annual charges, all kinds of annual charges, etc.

LIVING IN QATAR

whatz up with The Qatar Banks Are they going down like those in US?

all these record earnings remind me of the number of "Satyam" fiascos that might be lurking among these banks and companies..

They should take note that customers will be very unhappy. The QR50 annual fee for the debit card is fine as we understand spiraling costs of living BUT they should not raise their charges indiscriminately. QR100 for monthly statements is ridiculous.

Please don't send me any monthly statements, if you want to save the trees. I don't need any statements as long as I can view my statement online.

Raising charges indiscriminately is not only unprofessional, but it's socially irresponsible as well.

/I'm not criticizing because I'm upset and have no other option. I'm not upset cos as usual, I have other options. It's a matter of which bank I get rid of. Never underestimate your customers.

and it shouldn't last for 'honeymoon' only.. to charge QR 100 for the monthly Bank Statement? isn't it insane? They must provide the customers with the monthly statements for free, like any other normal bank in the world.. at least for the reason of finding their own endless mistakes, otherwise all the errors, which in 99.999% are made for their own benefits, shall remain hidden...
