Requirements to get Married at Phil. Consulate in Qatar
Hi there,
Me and my Fiance would like to get married in Qatar in
May 2009. I am a Canadian citizen while my Fiance is holding a Filipino Passport but a UK Resident.
Do I need a Visitor's visa to visit if I am a Canadian citizen? Or can we acquire a Visitor's Visa at Qatar Airport once we arrive there?
Second question, I hope somebody could give me a definite answer for this question... we would like to get married at Phil. Consulate in Qatar, how long it will take to get the schedule for the wedding date and what are the requirements and the cost involved. I am a divorcee while my husband was never married before. We are both in legal age to get married.
We will highly appreciate if you could provide us correct information that could give us peace of mind as we want to get married soon.
Many thanks,
Miriam and Ben
Hi Miriam and Ben,
hope to help. just got married yesterday :) So based on my experience, Im a filipina married to a tunisian. We were not married in the Philippine Embassy since they will only wed, those of same nationality. Same as in his case.
The documents we processed was the certificate of no marriage and birth certificate. Which should be authenticated in the department of foreign affairs in the phils, in your case, the corresponding office. Then once you have it here, you have it authenticated in the Philippine Embassy (100QAR), then Ministry of Exterior (20). We also had it translated to arabic. Then gave it to the main court for approval.
We had an extra document which was a Special Power of Attorney from my father since I was not converting.
In your case, best to go to check with the Phil. Embassy first if they can do the marriage for you, it will be less headache. But if they can't you might have to do it in the court.
Best of luck, congratulations and best wishes as well :)
some of the reuirements needed for your filipino fiancee is a Certificate of No Marriage(CENOMAR) from the Philippines NCSO.And authenticated(Red Ribbon) by the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila and a Certificate of legal capacity from the Phil.Embassy Doha.
And for you is your divorce paper and Certificate of legal capacity from your embassy,
These papers are to be submitted at the officiating priest/minister.
With regards to your visas ,I have no idea.

Please get in touch with our Philippine Embassy in Doha Tel. no. 483-15-85
Cheers,
As far as I know, you cannot anymore be married here in the consulate. MOFA will not anymore recognize marriages done in the consulates.
You will have to get married to a licensed minister and then register the marriage in your consulate and then have it attested by MOFA.
Court marriage, as far as I know also, are now only for locals.
