22-year-old Miss Indiana crowned Miss America

Stayed up to watch Katie Stam of Indiana crowned Miss America 2009.. What drama, what suspense, what choreography , what long legs – Much better than Obama’s inauguration. I think there should be a "Miss QL" pageant..

The 22-year-old University of Indianapolis student drew loud applause for her rendition of "Via Dolorosa" during the talent portion of the pageant at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

During the interview portion of the competition she decried the use of performance-enhancing drugs among professional athletes and discussed the definition of glamour. (Bless her)

"That beauty that you feel on the inside, it's that confidence, that radiance inside of you, that's what glamour is," Stam said.

Stam won a $50,000 scholarship and hopes to obtain a bachelor's degree in communications and become a television news anchor. She began competing in pageants at age 15.

The first runner-up was Miss Georgia Chasity Hardman, who took home a $25,000 scholarship.

OK.. enough about Katie Stam.. What got me fascinated was the runner up.. “Chastity Hardman”.. Why would you name your daughter “Chastity Hardman” ?

Chastity Hardman is just a Straight southern belle Comfort.

I guess the parents knew it was going to be one uphill battle in keeping her in one piece from those red necks puckers.....

In the other hand: The girl from Indiana probably is 50% mix from Indian Parents, I meant to said American natives...not those Indus.

hmmmm let's see... an Indian can be American but can an American be Indian, I think yes, so an Indian can be Miss America and still not be Indian ????? And possibly with a Democrat in office we can have a man for Miss America because we wouldn't want to hurt his feelings either.

He who dies with the most toys wins.
