Is it difficult for an employer in Qatar to issue a Medical Waiver for a pulmonary scar?

I have an offer to work for a company based in Qatar. My Medical examinations proved that I have no disease whatsoever. However, the clinic will not issue a Fit to Work confirmation unless the employer give a Medical Waiver because of my pulmonary scar from a fully cured infection thirty years ago. The clinic informed me that this is due to a new guideline from GAMCA. We may work in any other country without any problem due to this "scar" but for GCC countries like Qatar we need a Waiver from our employer.

I have already emailed my employer explaining this predicament but after one week there is still no reply. Which could be a good sign,(according to my never say die hopeful heart), since my employer could just simply say NO and that would be the end of it. Well, since he still has not replied, I am just imagining that he is looking for ways to let me in. Maybe he is looking for ways to accomodate me. (Or maybe I am just dreaming.). Hope springs eternal..

Is it difficult for an employer to issue a Medical waiver even if they want to issue one?

Please give me some candid advise so I may know whether to keep on hoping or look for scar-tolerant opportunities.

As always,Madam Mandi wrote very nice answer and it is complete and short as it need-------

but I just want to add that here in Qatar there is big competition and employers have lot of options, so best way is contact your employer by phone and get clear idea.

good luck.

Follow up with a phone call. It's worth the hassle and the money. That way you can explain your position in person, as it were.
