the hotel has a limousine service but way too expensive and although there are taxis available they are also virtually impossible to find esp on peak hours! but if you're feeling adventurous you can take the bus but you have to know their routes else you'll get lost.

I know that I will get positive feedbacks from fellow QL'ers.

I believe that I'll be in Ramada maybe for a week or two then moved to my temporary housing (location - which is yet to be confirmed) finally will be in a permanent housing. Since my licence had expired, I am unable to drive and will need to wait for my RP to have my driving licence. In the meantime, I believe that public transport is the only way for me to commute in Doha. Any suggestions on other modes of transportation?

if u have car, jus go around driving n shopping else jus walk around to nearest stores and look for the grocery prices cuz its varies from store to store, this might help u do u rekky for house hold items.

It depends where u will stay and u have a car with u or not? First time I came here just walking around the compound and to the souqs coz`it`s very near from my housing.

Yes, agree with mad and kyuting....u have to go to souq waqif. I can meet u there if u want as long as u don`t mind if I bring my baby with me. Because I like to hang out there only for coffee or ice cream, and also I can go there by walking.

yeah, a drive round the city is a good idea and then where u stop how long depends on the company. but make sure you end up at the souk waqif in the evening! nice place for a pleasant evening.

Our residence manager toured us around Souq Waqif then brought us for dinner in the small arabic restaurant... come to think of it... we should have eaten first before walking around :)

My first weekend I got in my car and drove, and drove, and drove. Use your time to find your way around.
