Hi guys, I don't want to sound "blonde" but I arrived here three weeks ago and I have seen more movies; shopping malls and been for more walks and workouts than in last 6 months!! Has anyone got any suggestions of places to go/things to see??? (be nice lol)

Quite a number of people want to meet up with their own country peeps, guess they feel alone in a strange land and would like to be more comfortable, thus mixing with people they are familiar with, less stressful. Common background, common language, etc. but the danger here is remaining a "frog under a coconut shell" with fellow froggies.
Some weirdos like me however, just love getting to know people from different backgrounds. Loads to learn from other people. See things from different perspectives. Fun! ;0)
Hhhmm thanks for that, I will check those places out! In answer to your question, I never plan these things, I just have fun; I love meeting new people which travelling and working abroad is great for! Who knows where it may lead....:) btw what's with all these people wanting to meet expats from their country over here?!?!?
yes i agree with you, i have been to Qube a few times as well, and i didnt like it either... bubbles on two is better than the Qube.. if u like jazz music that is....
HHmmm I am interested in night life but reading the old forums on this site, there doesn't seem to be a lot !?!!??! thanks....BTW I walked into Qube the other night and walked straight out (it wasn't my scene)..a chilled out bar is on my 'wish list' !!
if u mean nightlife and you fancy crowdy with loud music and if u dont mind smelling like cigarette smoke by the time u finish, then u can go to Qube at the ramada...on the other hand if you fancy nice relaxing jazz music, you can check out bubbles on two also at the ramada, and there's also Orion bar...

yes it is... Qube is just not my kind of place... too many suspicious characters lurking around especially drunk ones...
find something interesting in the gold souq, even if u just look around
Thanks for your description of Qube, mj.
The jazz at bubbles sounds interesting and the ambience, preferable.
