Can RP be re-validated if you overstay outside Qatar for more than 6 months?
Hi,
My wife (under my sponsorship) will leave for India now for delivery and may return only after about 10 months from today. Her RP is renewed and is valid till Jan 2010.
I have received different opinions regarding RP getting cancelled if she overstays outside Qatar by more than 6 months. I also heard that for pregnancy, the person is allowed to stay outside Doha for a maximum of 1 year if the RP is valid and necessary documents are submited at immigration.
But, just to be prepared, can anybody advice, if her return trip is not allowed with the existing RP since she overstays, can we re-activate her RP which will be valid by date? What is the procedure for the same?
Your urgent response wil be highly appreicated.
Thanks,
Kumar
Thanks again AG. You have been a great help.
take care
No need of any medical sectificate. Only have to state the reason in the application form as'pregnency/for delivery'. Thats all.
Thanks AG for your answer. Its a great help. But can I also ask you, do I need to get any letter or statement from India/hospital giving reasons for the delay? (since my wife is leaving for delivery, a medical certificate?)
thanks
It can be renewed by paying 500 QR for each RP. The extension period will be for one year from the date of departure from Qatar OR the RP expiry date whichever is first. This can be done from the immigration office nearby the airport and better to renew before 6 month from the date of departure from Qatar.
Required Document:
1. Application form typed in Arabic (Form available in all typing centers or available in the emigration office)
2. Passport copy of sponsor(husband)
3. Passport copy of family including RP page.
4. Ofcourse, the charge of 500 QR/RP.
Immediately you will get it extented from the counter itself.
I did the same before one month.
