Just 7 right... Not to worry, you still got another 7 more points to go... relax, tell your friend to be extra carefull till she goes renews her car istimara, the cops will check her driving report, and if she has been a good person through through after tht incident, they will pull down her claimed points.

Don't worry. You can go to "muroor" located near Immigration roundabout or to the one located near old Airport area and ask your lady to speak and request them for reducing. Better if the lady speaks. All the best.

According to Decree No 19 of 2007, issued by HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani these are the new traffic violations and fines.

The new Traffic laws also make provisions for a point system where according to the offence the driver will have his licence marked with points. A driving licence may be suspended for three months when the total violations reach 14 points for the first time. If the same person gathers 12 points again, his licence would be suspended for six months, nine months on the accumulation of the next 10 points and one year for the next eight points.

Ultimately, a driving licence may be cancelled if the same offender earned six points for the fifth time. And in this case, a new driving licence shall be issued only after he passed a new driving test.

However, the law said the earlier points in one's account would be removed if that person did not commit any traffic violation during one year from the time his licence was revoked.

QR 6,000! ouch! sure is a hard lesson learned there. and there was a QL member complaining why a female driver suddenly stopped at a yellow signal.

anyway, you can go to www.moi.gov.qa for more information on the points system. i think after a year, your friend will return to clean slate, unless she keeps making more violations.

As long as there are no more than 12 points your friend will be okay. But to be sure not to get caught again. After 12 points your friend will lose the licence.
