though you can travel with both passports stapled together, it is better to stamp the resident visa in the new passport.

It is for your conveneience

your Mandoop may take 50 QR from yoiu and he can return this within 2-3 days

U can travel with new passport & visa on old passport . You should carry both passport with you . Take care at airport that the immigration officer should stamp on new passport , it happens with me - with out seeing in detail he put stamp on old passport , i draw his attention then he stamp on new passport .

If possible try to change visa - residency stamp on new passport . i did it for my wife last week . It will not take more than 2 days
