Qtel and Port Forwarding (torrents)

Ok, so I have been in Qatar for 6 months and have been having hell trying to get my bit torrents to work properly. I have bought 3 different routers and was unable to effective set them up to get maximum downloads. Well tonight I had a thought that I had not read on any site. What if the damn Qtel modem had something blocking ports. So after playing around with the Speedtouch modem sure enough I found settings for port forwarding. I put in my ports and bam it worked. So if anyone else out there is having similar issues, look at the modem set up.
