I lost my iPhone 3G mobile.. I left it in a private taxi.I dont remember the taxi color, and the plate no. either. I was trying to call but he dont answer,im not surprise coz my phone was in silent mode and i left it at the back of the car so maybe he didn't notice my fone yet. I keep calling till 12am but it just keep on ringing. so i decided to report it to the police station. The police said leave it till morning, i'll just keep on calling maybe he'll answer. Police said if he dont answer till 9 or 10 am i will go back to the station. I tried to call again in the morning but he's cancelling my call. It means the mobile is already with the driver. So i went back to the police..In my surprise the on duty officers DON't understand nor DON'T speak ENGLISH?????? so they don't help me at all, i just decided to come back. So i came back in the afternoon with my Sudanese coleague.(for arabic translation). So we filed a report. The driver is INDIAN NATIONAL..100% sure!
Questions:

Do i have the chance to get back my phone??
Are all INDIANS same as this driver??( i am upset)
What else can i do to recover my phone aside from the police report..
HELP!!!!!!!!

Nope, it was late at night when this thing happen,11:30 he pick me @ al sadd going home to ibn omran. when i get down from his car i noticed my fone wasn't with me.. I keep calling..fone keeps o ringing..i am pretty sure that he just noticed my mobile early in the morning when he go back to his car! I AM NOT indian.

Well, i understand that this is a Arab country.. but being a OFFICER is a Profession.. English speaking isn't required????? well my profession doesn't require Arabic language.

I am not angry i am open minded person. And i am only asking i am not judging!

Why accuse the driver ? It is possible that another passenger picked up the phone rather than the driver..

Anyway, i would give up on it and just block the SIM. Move on!

i see that you are quick in making assumptions which may or may not be right.

Anyway since your phone is a 3G phone, you can look at the receipt or something and get the IMEI number and give it to qtel, with this number, it would be possible to locate the area your phone is though it will be difficult getting the exact person except you involve the secret service or so.

and if you dont want the phone to be useful to the person that stole it, just ask qtel to stop the phone from working. that makes it useless for the person that stole.

What do you mean by 'Are all INDIANS same as this driver?'

You forgot your phone, - so chances are you will not get your mobile back.

Good luck buying another one. Just make sure you immediately cancel the number at QTEL office asap.

Good luck.

sorry to hear you lost your phone

bizarre you 'don't remember the taxi color' lol

you are assuming that the driver is cancelling the call, perhaps a passenger picked it up and has taken it, maybe they were the same nationality as you?

you are opening up trouble that duty officers don't understand or speak English, equally you don't understand or speak Arabic

'Are all INDIANS same as the driver' - open the floodgates why don't you, a lesson in how not to make friends
