Renewing Passport for Filipina Maid

I have a maid from the Phillipines who is under my sponsorship. Her passport will expire next month, and I was wondering if anyone knows what is required by the Phillipine embassy for renewing it. Anyone know?

Certainly, the Philippine Embassy will return the old passport but they will cancell it in lieu of the new one.

Thanks all! If I give her the money for the renewal is there any reason I have to go to the embassy with her - I assume I don't have to sign the form since it's for her passport. She is quite independent, and could go herself in the morning when I am at work and kids are in school.

Will they return her original passport with the new one? I think we will need it in order to transfer her visa into the new passport.

Thanks again.

Requirements for renewal of passport: Fill up renewal application form, 2 passport size pictures, QR250. Personal appearance of your maid to the Philippine Embassy is necessary. Issuance of new passport (machine readable) shall be after one month because application is being sent in the Philippines for processing.

you need to take her to the Philippine Embassy for her to fill-up the form. but before you go there, take her to the Kodak Studio (the only accredited) at City Centre to take her photo.

since the implementation of the Machine Readable Passport, it will now take a month or two for her to get her new passport, so i would suggest for her to renew it asap. hope this helps :)
