i remembered this while watching it on city7 channel it was during their news hour that the newscaster said that dubai is or was already installing traffic cameras every 2 kilometers on dubai roads. This is interesting, I think this should be done also here in Qatar. What do you think about this? I think this is beneficial for all of us, roads will be safe because there will be too much deterrents on the road against overspeeding.

GodFather.

lamea agree fully with you on the cameras..

There is already a point system operating in Qatar as I found out when I got a parking ticket behind Al Sadd plaza 3 points for parking on the pavement with QR300 fine..

Yes there should be cameras at intersections, but not on main roads and highways..

Cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed..

I want to feel the wind in my hair as I hurtle down the highway in my KIA taking a break from my everyday toubles and worries.

Dubai is broke and needs the money this is the only reason why they are installing it. Qatar is oil rich and doesnt need this.

Fines arent sufficient deterrant infact its the upper income groups who are usually overspeeding and dont feel the pinch of the fines.Qatar requires the point system whereby after a certain number of points the licence should be cancelled and not reissued for atleast another year or so.
