Hello,
i am waiting a visa form HMC, for a physician job. currently i live in Saudi arabia, and have a valid RP in it, although it is as a companion (non working) coz the family lives here. would that affect the Qatari working visa or getting RP in Qatar?
thank you all
Under normal circumstances, you cannot hold RPs from two GCC countries at the same time. Most of the employers will ask you to cancel your previous RP prior to joining.
The only exception is you can hold RP of two GCC countries provided the employing company is the same in both countries.
It would not affect your application for Working Visa here in Qatar.
Most candidates are worried about applying a working visa while still in other GCC countries; however, it should not be the case.
You should worry though if you have any bad record in other GCC country that you are staying right now but if not then you should not be worried at all.
Some of the GCC employer's have some influenced here in Qatar thus if they blacklisted former employees they tend to get GCC ban. And the result is the banned employee cannot be issued working visa anywhere in the Gulf. This kind of situation is very seldom.
During my stay here, the only problem GCC candidates' faced are those banned employees with the same name. However, after the employer / sponsor prove that the candidate did not enter Qatar yet, the government issued working visa too.

Dr_SS,
I cannot see any problem with you holding two (2) RPs as the other RP you have is non-working visa.
Anyway, as harmoo posted earlier, you can inquire to MOI - Qatar.
All the best.
Cheers.
Actually you CAN have two at the same time. My housemaid has both UAE and Qatar RPs.
No u cant have them both at the same time .
We had a UAE one and when we moved to Doha , they told us that we have to cancel the UAE rp first to get the qatari one .
yes, as far as I know, you can hold both, but some formalities and fees would be required.
The easiest way is to contact Qatar Ministry of Interior Department through their web site and they will guide you (link below).

No, you cannot hold 2 GCC RPs simultaneously.
thank you mikimiki
but, do u have an idea if one can hold both RP (of Qatar and Saudi arabia) later on?
