How do you feel the finance-crise in Qatar?
My husbands company has put a stop for our plans for a move to Qatar, might be later, but for now is´t on an hold because of the worlds finance-crise.

The Finance Crisis would have bypassed the Gulf ....if only the projects were not so superflous, extravagant and needing multi-billion investment.

Had the majority of the projects been like Barwa Housing projects (ie for the average local/expat), Construction of major Roads, Investment in Public Transportation the financial crises would not have touched the Gulf.

To build Artificial Islands when there were enough barren land to be constructed on might cost the gulf dear in terms of slow down in the progress middle east had made in Infrastructure-development, Higher-Salary, Investments in Industries, Investments in Free Energy (Solar, Wind, Bio-Gas), etc.

But then 3 to 4 yrs ago nobody even thought about such economic slow down.

I travel throughout the Middle East every month. I am starting to see a bit of a slow down in projects and many concerns and talk of workforce lay offs.

In my opinion it´s not merely the Finance Crisis, it's the oil prices that are going down.

There's a construction boom in the middle east, liderized by Dubai, not sure if current world conditions will affect deeply on this industry.

Best Regards,

it hasn't affected me that much directly.... yet. i haven't withdrawn all my money from the bank, i still pay my life insurance, etc. I'm just hoping for the best.
