PaulKimchi, It is illegal to drink at any establishments at the Pearl. Look at this link: http://iloveqatar.net/forum/read.php?5,37518

Hope this information helps. :)

Some guy came up to me and asked me if I was gay or not. He said he likes men and wanted to take me home. I was in shock and ran away. haha This happened at the Qube in Ramada.

I went to Midori Sushi on the Pearl. They serve alcohol if you rent the VIP room. To rent the VIP room is only 100qrs. You can be as loud as you want also!

Been to Orion in Radisson blue(Formerly Ramada). It was a good experience their. A piano concert was there. It was a bit over crowded as I went on Thursday. Drink prices range from 30 QR to 150 QR(per 30 ml). Indian made KingFisher strong beer costs 50 QR (which I feel is a fair deal). Guests are mostly Asians, Pinoys, middle easterners.

Gets closed by 12'O clock.

I have been there, probably 7 times, honestly and I did not notice a prostitution atmosphere, at least no the prostitution atmosphere that you can see in others countries in gulf or outside Qatar. Obviously I noticed this crazy couples, likes very nice Asian lady with very old and disgusted western man, is she a prostitute? Well, from my point of view she only has a very bad taste and he has a lot of money to waste around.

Personally I do not classify the ladies in this way and if is the case, well they should have a real good reason to do it.

I think the correct words for these Qube ladies is "Having the potential to become one" or "Part timer". The argument is when 5 glasses of beer is down, words and action can be distorted. Anything is possible from here on. And why not. We are all here alone. I could't live without it either.

By QATARIANA1• 24 Jul 2009 12:47
QATARIANA1

I appreciate your effort for such a great heap of info. But I don't think it's right to say that 99% women in Qube's main floor are prostitutes. I've been here in Doha for almost 4 years and have gone there maybe 5 times. I could say that I really didn't like all that I saw but at least I have respected every women and given them all the benefit of the doubt. After all I came there to have some fun and not really to be a judge.Who are we to judge people? If you want to be of help and you want others to get your message...you could have done it gentler so as not to offend other people...you could have said it like some women looks indecent,or much worst majority are pros...but 99%??? wow...as If you want to leave that 1% margin to yourself because you're going there also....Are you that flawless? Are you infallible? Are you that immaculate? If yes then you are the best judge I've ever known.

Just an unsolicited piece of advice..."don't judge and you will not be judged"....and still the golden rule cries out "don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you".

Eleven, forget about and don't waste your time with this topic. Gypsy really doesn't know what he says. In Italy, but I think all over the world, it is said that who despises wants to buy; then if he's male wants a woman but doesn't succeed in picking her and and if is a woman wants a man but she's so ugly that nobody wants her.

I went QUBE one time with a friend,oh my god, i dance hot, hope they didnt think me a pro.i am surpried, why the guy wrote that 99% in main floor are pros.you are so subjective.i am sure it is not true.i think most of female went clubs for haveing a fun.can you tell me which place can make more happy in the city.,many strange rules bother me.when i am sitting on a chair and drinking or dancing in the pool,a man comes to me,say hi,whether i have to say that i am not a pro.

Just left Qatar 4 months ago (been there for 7 years) and what I read from Gypsy is a pure rubbish; sure he/she had some problems with some girls in Doha so for this reason he think that most of the girls dancing, standing or drinking in the bars in Doha are prostitutes. Ahahahahah

You know guys whatever you said...there are always pros etc in every single bar..how about when a lady got drunk

fall and ended with romantic affair that night to a particular guy...it's a one night stand then...guys should feel lucky about it. However, gypsy's information

on night out hub will help us anyway...the only thing i absolutely disagree on rules is most of bar and club taking membership..I was just concerned to those tourists who will stays for a week or even less for example and wants to have fun with friends he or she cannot go in coz of this fuckin membership and not even accepting passports as identification. I hope management of such establishment will also consider other things...Can we just call it "FUN" for everybody who wants to enjoy????? Well anyway... I love HEDKANDI and whether you like it or not it's in Qube ramada....

Gypsy,

I had fixed our monthly gathering for expats associated with InterNations-Qatar last month at 'CloudNyn-Merweb'.

But only upon entering the venue, we were stopped & denied entry stating new rule permited only existing registered members to all bars in the city.

I enquired about becoming a member on-the-spot, but was refused saying membership was already stopped for new clients.. What is this?

I tried browsing new bar rules but, could not get any more info :(

What is the very latest rule about entry to Bars, as well as to Clubs here?

Clear-cut answers would certainly help.

Cheers... !

With warm wishes,

"Gulf Horizon Hotel: Located in the souk next to the Rawnaq and above a juice stall, the 8th floor of the Gulf Horizon boasts a bar. Not much to be said for this place except the drinks are CHEAP!!! 12 QR a shot, 12 QR a bottled beer."

Went there last night as it is only a 15 minute walk from where I live. It was actually OK! A good mix of nationalities - Brits, Indians, Filipinos, Lebs, and a couple of Qataris watching the footie. Guinness at QR26/pint is one of the cheapest in town though we did have to ask for 'cream on top'.

Amourad your funny, you will fit in well with the crowd of the people who think that single women are pro's and that all the guys who are out are looking for pros!

how absurd your information about QUBE...

I've been there MAIN FLOOR twice last year with group friends( 6 women 2 men)having a CLEAN FUN on weekend... so how come you are informing people that 100% women in the main floor are prostitutes???????

By the way the 2nd time we went there we go up at the VIP and within 30 minutes we go down again in the MAIN FLOOR... do you know why?????? because we were not comfortable with what we saw in the VIP section....im not telling 100% of women in VIP but I can tell lots of women in the VIP section literally throwing their bodies with the men they are with...we saw some are even making out which we did not even see in the MAIN FLOOR...

hope to make friends to all of you.

Thanks Ibrahim Melouk. Gypsy, not all women who goes to Qube are pros. Me and my best friends, whenever we wanted to unwind, we went to bars like Qube or Sheraton coz its near to our place. My Occupation is Retail Store Manager and my friend is a Travel consultant and not a PROSTITUTE.

We can pay our own drinks and eat in a class restaurant without a sponsors. Very well said and done..

Again, thanks Ibrahim..

Gypsy your information is good on location and places but your comment of pros, well you are just an idiot especially about the Qube. I go there quite a bit and not looking for pro's and I am downstairs a lot with groups of friends (male and female). Lots of guys go with their girls or the girls go out to get a break from the BS they go through here or with comments from people as ignorant as you. If you are really a female you should understand that or do you think your a holy than now. To say the Qube is 100% pros is so lame and ignorant.

Usually a birthday party on Thursdays or Fridays, sometimes a mascot playing pokey stuff on Thursdays and Fridays. Average drink price 4 QR (per single order; meal combo for free).

Gypsy’s been smart and funny about it. Been going out for few yrs in Doha the ideal place is yet to be found. They all start well then go down fast. This is even the case of the Pearl lounge which use to be the place.

Drinking in these dirty places like Sofitel, Gulf Horizon, Merwab, The Qube, Orion, Merwab and few other places, we start feeling cheap

and retarded just like the people who come there. MOre over Whenever I go there I feel like I am in some East Asian country.

Verns, Vegas is a good friend of mine, I'm sure if I insulted his wife (whom he did not meet at the Qube :P ) then he would tell me himself.

Oh dear me. Seems like there's been a rush on sense of humour bypasses.

Think about it people - obviously Gypsy doesn't know exact percentages of male to female, nationalities, and prostitutes. She's just thrown in some figures as a rough guide based on what she's seen at these bars. In some cases she's probably exaggerated to get her point across and for comedy effect.

Her guide is accurate enough to make a decision about where you want to drink, yet also humorous and light hearted. Thank you Gypsy, I've forwarded this to all my friends in Qatar. None have complained that you insulted them.

Nicely done. You guys dont have to be all judgmental & shit, what she wrote intended to just give you a breif idea of the whole damn thing. I've been to quite a lot of these places & shes somewhat right.

A few aditions.

Paloma, Intercon. If you know Salsa or are interested in it theres no other place like it. I AM sad about the no more outdoors though.

Aussie Legends, Rydges. For the guys, they have a pool table there..nice eh? although a little hard to get a turn as its packed.

Cloud nine, Merweb. Too TOO crowded, place is a little bigger then Rydges' but furnished really badly. Oh & the first fridays of the months?..shouler to shoulder, & i literally mean shoulder to shoulder! Forget dancin you cant frikkin walk or sit or drink decently. Friendly down to earth staff though.

Gypsy, please explain my lack of observations in the Qube then. If indeed all the girls on the bottom floor in the Qube are pros, then somebody should explain their job to them! Whenever I go there they ignore every man who tries to talk to them (and no, they dont only ignore me)... and I never see any leaving with clients. I must be missing something. Or they are just the laziest pros in the world!

Also, can you answer peoples question about coming bars and nightclubs? Seeing that you are very close to all-knowing!
