Designer breeds are very difficult to get here. You could buy her a handbag instead, easy to get here.

Puppies should not be given as gifts, that's how they end up on the streets.

Definitely check out QAWS, and also the Animal Care Center run by Dr. Paul, not far from DESS, near Markhiya R/A - tel:4877144. I know there is a beautiful pup there now that he is housing, unsure of breed (tho she looks like she'll be a medium-large sized dog, not a small one).

You should also check the ads people put up in the supermarkets around town -- usually there are loads of ones for animals (both old and new) needing good homes.

i think you misunderstand me .what i meant that i went a dog like peekapoo puppy or cocker puppy and not Belgian Tervuren or Bullmastiff not because of anything but we use to have in USA male Dogue de Bordeaux that all

If you don't want a big dog, what will you do when the puppy grows up? Have you had dogs before? They're a lot of responsibility.

Here's a website link that maybe you should look at before you get a dog http://www.canadianliving.com/life/pets/secrets_every_dog_lover_should_know.php

Sorry, but the tone of your message to my ear was that this puppy is going to have to be "convenient" - puppies aren't convenient, that's why they're cute so you'll love them anyways :)

Apologies if I've misunderstood, perhaps you could try fostering a dog before taking one on permanently - mine is 10+ years old and still going strong on 4 - 5 walks a day including 2 "good" walks (30 - 60 minutes). Trip to the vet at least once a year for shots and checkups - QAR300+. Spay/Neuter - QAR500/200+.

Dogs are a big commitment in time and effort - but well worth it. Hope things work out well for you.

They also have puppies at QAWS. Why don't you take a look at the website tallg provided, all the animals they have are listed there.

I hope you get a puppy from QAWS for your kid!

most of the pet shops here have unhealthy animals so avoid buying from them. They even mistreat the animals very badly. I once saw the guy in Creator's Oasis smoking away sitting at his desk with a Scarlet Macaw right next to him. The macaw looked so much in discomfort; smoke is terribly bad for parrots. The guy seemed least bothered or interested in its welfare. As a matter of fact, wen i pointed it out to him, he said "no, she likes smoking. She sit with me everytime i smoke. look..." and be blows smoke into the poor things face! I could've pounced on him right then!!!

U pay a good amount for a pet and then it dies within a few days of it coming home or else u end up goin back and forth with the vet trying to cure some damn ailment, and then worse is the heart ache u'll put ur kid thru if it dies.

Go to QAWS or any of the nice shelters around the country and pick up a nice a well taken care of animal.

hope ur kid enjoys her new friend!!!

Please dont buy a puppy from one of the pet stores here. They are just horrible and they treat the animals so badly. Go to QAWS - they are a shelter for homeless animals. You will be able to get the most adorable dog and he/she will be so happy and grateful to have a wonderful home - you won't get a better pet than one that you have rescued. Good luck and I hope you find something soon.

Best to get one from the animal shelter. Free, vaccinated, and not from one of the awful pet shops in qatar.

Check out their website; www.qaws.org
