As far as I know there will be a GCC summit and will start on the 29th of November 2008. All expats who will apply for either business or visit visa will be put on hold until such time the summit finish. Any expat here in Qatar with same visas can no longer extend their stay for another month because of this summit.
This is only a temporary policy and after the summit they will again accept that kind of visas.
