Hi dear members - am Harish have logged in just now. Pl let me know whether a salary of QR 15000 is enough for living in Qatar as a bachelor with completely clean habits and vegeterianism and self-cooking.

I need the minimum cost of cheap bachelors (single/shared) accomodation in Doha
Cost of Taxis /buses/rickshaws etc
cost of mobile connection and call charges
Cost of food provisions for a month (vegeterian=simple food) - are carrefour prices the same between Doha and Dubai?
Please let me know how much i'll need to spend on these and what would be my savings

Thanks a lot

Best Harish

Thanks for you reply - very useful infor u have given

Cost of monthly bus pass and are there frequent buses and also is it true that cost of groceries per month even for a vegeterian person is 1000 QR ?? that's too huge

Can you provide me with sites/links/blogs where cheap bachelor accomodations in range of 400 QR to 700 QR is available

Thanks a lot

Qr. 15000 is good enough for a bachelor of your type. If you are planning to share your accommodation with other Indians (bed space only) it will cost you approximately Qr. 500 to 750 per month and if you are planning to get an executive bachelor accommodation it will cost you between Qr. 2000 and Qr. 2500/- plus the furnishing expenses which is one time only. Are you planning to have food from restaurants or you will be cooking at home. If you are planning to eat from good vegetarian restaurants it will cost you like Qr. 800 per month and if you are planning to have food from the normal restaurants it will cost you approx. Qr. 500. If you are sharing your accommodation most of the bachelors are preparing their food at home and it will not cost you more than Qr. 300/- per month. Taxis are bit expensive but buses are very cheap here. Cost of mobile connection is a one time issue but the call charges will depend on your usage. Then you will have other expenses for entertainments and health which will not be that much. You can still save a lot of money.
