Is it required to extend the entry visa date if there is any problem in medical and delay for getting RP?

There is a delay for getting resident permit due to some medical problem to my wife.Her ENTRY VISA WAS EXPIRED ON 23.09.2008.SO is it required to apply again for visa?.Medical is in progress. She was entered in QATAR ON 19.09.2008.
