Fooooood!
Hi, I'm quite new here and having a bit of a shock: I really don't know what to cook for my family of 2 kids, DH and me. Well, I mean I have a short list of dishes for lunches or dinners but I need some more fresh ideas (w/o using a pork meat) PLEASE!!!
Could you please share some of your favourite recepies using local products......
.local products like kamel...
.
I do... But they want a MEAT! :-)
Thanks a lot Roxanne, will definately try all your recepies! I do soups quite often. I'd say sometimes they are the only main meals during the day.
Please, please: more recepies! :-)))
The base ingredients just aren't that good. I find that the produce looks great as you approach the section, but upon closer inspection it tends to be overripe, moldy, etc.
I did make an excellent vegetable soup last night that is a definite do-again dish. I diced and sauteed a large onion & two cloves of garlic with olive oil until soft, then added a large chopped carrot, a yellow and a green bell pepper, two small sliced zucchinis, a peeled cubed eggplant, four diced red potatoes (peel on) and 1/2 kilo of boiled green beans. I added the above vegetables according to the time they would require to cook a little bit. (Oh - and freshly ground black pepper)
I then added four cans of chopped tomatoes and about 1.5 liters of water with two "less salt" chicken stock cubes and 1/2 bunch of chopped parsley.
The result was an excellent meal that will stretch out for two nights. Even my 3yo son loved it.
For lunches (esp for the kids) spread some tortillas with either butter or ripe avocado. Put a couple slices of turkey or chicken deli meat and grate some cheese onto them. Put so a tad of lettuce (or rocket/arugula - yum!) on and roll them up. I put some plastic wrap on the bottom half when I put them in my son's lunch.
Enjoy!
