Dear All,
I'll be moving to Doha, Qatar in two weeks time (30th Oct.) from Dubai and would like your assistance in the following:

I am married with two boys, will move first then my wife and boys will follow in a year time.

1 - Can I drive in Qatar with my UAE Liscence the rental car or do I need International Drivers Liscence?

2 - Can I transfer my UAE liscence to Qatari driver's liscence? or do I need to go through raod teast?

3 - Where would you recommend to live in Doha? I hear of West pal area? I want to live in a one bedroom apt. on the sea...where do you recommend? what are the price range?

4 - I heard that the apt. in Doha is fully furnished? is this is the norms in Doha?

5 - Can I get my alcohol bottles with me? how many can I get into Doha by shipping?

6 - I will be looking to purchase a 4X4 car, I am looking at BMW X5, Infinity FX, VW Touareg, ML 350 Mercedes. what is the best out of there in Qatar as far as service? parts? resel value?

Thanks alot and looking forard to hearing from you all....

Thanks for your reply....

I have a Murano in Dubai which is not paid off yet, so I will sell it and get a new car in Doha, this is much better....rather than go through the shipment and stuff.

So No need to get my Alcohol in my shipments?....so then I have to drink them all in two weeks!...geeeee!! :)))

1. Only for a short time

2. Yes, but if you have a US license it will be easier.

3. Depends where you are working! If you work in Messaid or Dukhan, West Bay isn't much use to you

4. Some are some are not.

5. You can not bring alcohol with you - besidew, we have enough here already!

6. Why not bring your car from Dubai?

Did you Google it first?
