Can you keep RPs of 2 GCC countries together?
Hullo everyone
I've been living in Kuwait, and have recently been offered a job in Qatar. My new company has applied for my visa. However, some friend said that before landing in Qatar, I need to cancel my Kuwaiti Residence Permit. My current sponsor is willing to keep the RP should I move to Qatar.
Could anyone provide and information on this?
Is it a Qatar law that all incoming expats from another GCC country cancel their permits before they arrive in Qatar?
Even if we must cancel it, must we do it BEFORE we arrive in Qatar? Can't we just let it expire or something? Or at least do it after we arrive?
Anyone who has gone through a situation like this before?
Gee.. thats a whole lot of questions. I feel I almost repeated myself several times. Heh.
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks.
Yep. Got the idea. Thanks, Mandi and Xplorer.
Your Qatar RP will not be stamped unless U get the previous RP cancelled, irrespective of whether you do it before entrering Qatar or after.
^^LiVE LiFE!^^
Hmm, I do know that you cannot hold two GCC RPs at the same time. You would not be coming into Qatar with a Qatar RP, it takes about a month here to get one. But you would probably have to fly back to Kuwait to get yours cancelled in your passport but you can't leave the country while your RP is being processed. Sounds like I've convinced myself it would be easiest to have you sponsor cancel your Kuwaiti RP before you come. Your employer will send your entry visa to you.
