Toyota in Qatar
As I know from the Qatar market, Toyota is the leader in the vehicle segment. What I learned from the customers attitude towards Toyota nowadays is;
1.Unless and until Toyota is putting up more service stations (at least half a dozen more) the market share is gonna plumb in Qatar atlest.
2.Toyata has a bad repo for delivering the vehicles after repair in timely manner.
3.All new buyers are seeking many other manufacturers just because they can't wait for the car in service station.
4.If a market leader needs to maintain the leadership, the existing customers should be well kept.
Hope Toyota does something good to solve these problems, so that our next car is Toyota again.
They should do something to retain customers and even attract new customers. With these on going feedback, they must act now, putting in mind that car is a very huge investment (from hard earned money) especially now that we are into global recession.
Customers should be well-serviced even after sales, to retain them. If customers are satisfied, they will share experiences with friends, acquaintances. Good feedback will help gain additional customers.
I think Toyota is changing albeit a little slowly. There have been some restructuring going on especially in their services section. The head was a British guy for long and his deputy a leb. Looks like both of them have been kicked and some australians are moving in.
Most expats don't do their homework to check the after-sales service but simply trust their previous good experience with Toyota in their home countries.
A fool is born every minute.
My wife decided to buy me a 4X4. When I got back to Doha I discovered it was a Suzuki. I was surprise at the reliability of the vehicle. I use it for my work traveling through the gulf. I can say that I am getting satisfactory same day service at the dealer. They have several places in Doha for quick service and car washes that are convenient.
I am undecided what car to buy. But found out kia & hyundai have got affordable prizes. please help me buy one long lasting but affordable car!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wanted to give Toyota a free consultancy because, I love Toyota as a brand, Poor man's bread and Rich man's pride it was - hope it stays so.
Sorry if I spoiled your consultancy plans.. LOL.. Lets wait and see what market does to the vehicle brands around.
With GM trying to merge with Chrysler or Ford, and Many other Brands Merging to one. I do think, there will be only a few brands in future in vehicle segment.

People who buy toyota are people who tip for bad service.
....and people who usually dont know about cars.
Abdul Latif Jamil in Saudi has the best Toyota / Lexus dealerships around. Their service is second to none.. I wonder why Toyota don't have quality control over their dealership here in Qatar..
After service is very poor with Toyota (I learned it from my peers when joined with the company) and moved to Honda
