you waste your energy in a wrong place these days! go and:

1. get the NOC letter;

2. Find another job!

and don't worry! with the NOC letter they will transfer your sponsorship, regardless to:

1. how long you have been in Qatar;

2. whether you leave the country for a while or not!

all you have to do now is to focus on NOC letter and finding another job!

if you don't want to leave Qatar at all, try to ask your present company not to cancel your visa for a while. negotiate the time. ask at least for 2-3-4 weeks. or even better write the letter,explaining that you want to find another job and need some time. In this case everything will be legal!but even if you had to leave, don't worry, you can enter qatar any time you want with USA citizenship ! and to get a job with NOC letter.

My ex-employer/company was bought by another company and there were re=organization/restructuring of the management.

Since January of this year, I've been transferred from one section to the other and the last transfer was a promotion (w/o any slary increments). Till they informed mmid-July that my position was made a redundancy and they have to let me go.

I was able to get a job with a trading company very quickly but unfortunately, the management won't keep their end of the agreement stated in the offer letter so I resigned.

Yesterday, i was notified by my previous employer that they're giving me till end of the month until they cancell my visa.

I got an NOC so I have no worries except that when my visa gets cancelled, I may have to pay the penalties 10 after the date of my visa cancellation.

With a US passport you can go out and come in on a tourist visa with your NOC to continue to look for a job. That way you don't have to pay the fine for overstaying your old one. Wish I knew of an inexpensive hotel for you. I truly believe that anyone who loves Qatar as much as you do should stay here!

Nope... you can come back very next day, if you have NOC.

all it takes a new Visa.

I will get NOC tomorrow but if i go home i cant come back for work only after two years, that is what advise i go from friends here. NOC is good only if im still in Qatar and if i wil be in Qatar after 7days i have to pay immigration 100/day, apart from that i dont know how long will it take for me to find another job? will i stay in hotel for how long looking a for another job? you know how expensive hotels in doha are.

Ernie,

If u have NOC with you and your Visa is cancelled and you are sent back to your country, you can again come back on a new Visa, so better ask for NOC, which they should give you in this case.

Good Luck

What does NOC stand for?

you have to get a NOC letter. That's all you need.

"I have asked them to give me NOC they said when i leave it will be automatical canceled". "

NOC letter states that your previos company doesn't mind you to work with other company, that's it. It cannot be cancelled. Only your RP with them is cancelled, and you will have to get a new one with your new company.

Charan, darling, he still can transfer his sponsorship, even if he worked less than 1 year for the previos company.

All he needs is a NOC letter. And a new job of course.

If you did not work for them at least for 1 year. Your NOC will not be accepted & you have to leave the country for 2 years.

Oh, Ernie, I am sorry! What terrible shock for you. One week's notice just doesn't seem right. Can you get an NOC from them? Even if you can't find a job immediately you will need it if you want to come back in the next two years. I hope someone on QL has a good lead for you.
