Cost of living

Hi,

I am about to stay in Doha for 3 years with my wife. The house will be paid from my company and they will give me two return tickets for Greece(my country). I am 35 year old and my wife is 29. We like cooking, watching dvds, shopping, cinema and some travelling. I go to the gym and I play soccer. We ittend to have children soon. What do you think that will be our cost of living (in QR) per year according to our lifestyle?

Fatcat did a very good estimate of what you have to expect to spend in Doha staying here with the lifestyle you have. It is just for you to add up. If you buy a CAr and plan to get Children you would probably need a little larger car and would have to expect a cost of 2500 -300 a month. Petrol is cheap(0.8QR/Liter) so it is not the cost you are used to . You and your wife are welcome.

For travelling you can find prices at Qatar Airways holidays (www.qatarairways.com).

DVDs cost about QR90 per DVD. You can't really rent them here, the selection available is terrible.

A small car will cost you around QR1600 to rent (or you can buy one, of course).

For groceries you should budget about QR1500 per week to shop very well.

Eating out will cost you about QR400 for 2 people including a glass of wine.

Movies cost QR35 per ticket.
