A boy of seven threw a zoo’s rare reptiles to the resident crocodile and bludgeoned other creatures to death.
CCTV recorded the child laughing as he rampaged round the Australian reptile farm, his mother making no attempt to stop him.
Ten lizards, turtles and other reptiles were devoured by the crocodile, while three were pounded to death with rocks during the 30-minute killing spree.
Staff were particularly upset by the loss of a female Spencer’s goanna, a type of lizard, which he bludgeoned to death with a rock.
The animals were worth £3,500.
Mr Neindorf plans to sue the child’s parents because he is three years under the legal age of criminal responsibility. Police are to interview them.
The boy, whose deadly acts were caught on the zoo's security camera, also threw several live animals to Terry over the two fences surrounding the crocodile's enclosure.
At one point, the youngster climbed over the outer fence to get closer to the giant reptile.
In the footage, the boy's face remains largely blank.
'It was like he was playing a game,' Mr Neindorf said.
He killed 13 animals, including a turtle, bearded dragons and thorny devil lizards.
Although none were rare, some would be difficult to replace, the zoo director added.

'We're horrified that anyone can do this, and saddened by the age of the child,' Mr Neindorf said.
Alice Springs police said they identified the boy, who lives locally, but were unable to press charges because of his age.
Children under age 10 are not criminally liable under the law in the Northern Territory.
'By all accounts, he's quite a nasty 7-year-old,' said Neindorf.
'If we can't put the blame onto the child, then someone has to accept the responsibility.'
The zoo's security system, which relies on sensors, probably did not detect the boy because he is so small.
Infact, I think all horrible brats like that should be fed to the crocs, that'll teach 'em.....
that'll be the day for the crocs.... :)
Yep and throw the parents in for good measure!! A mere banquet I would say!
dont forget the parents, lol.... :P
Feed the little brat to the crocs I say!!!
Ahhhh, this was a great post, anyone see where this may go with this?

The parents or whoever is responsible for the childs grooming is without any doubt to be held accountable for his action. At his tender age, I dont believe his individuality or personality has "developed" enough for him to fully realise the consequence of his actions.
For now, I think we can save all our straight jackets for more deserving candidates the likes of whom we see on TV blowing themselves up along with scores of innocent lives.
I would however admit that if such kids are not suitably "groomed" at this age could certainly qualify for a straight jacket in future
how about a straight jacket labda? think that'll hold him? :P
Sociopathic behaviour is not necessarily the fault of the parents. However, in this case I would say the parents are partially to blame for the child's behaviour. The child should be taken from the parents and institutionalized, the parents should also be charged with negligence if not abuse. These are not the acts of a normal 7 year old, bad parenting or no.
Maybe he's not ill or mental or anything.
The kid's probably just a little t.w.a.t that a good belting to straighten him out.
just eat another pie
I agree with Echo...strap him down I say!!

from britexpat:We are all assuming "mental illness". the simple matter is that teh parents are resonsible for the actions of their offspring. If he has these tendencies, then they need to keep a closer eye on him.
I strongly agree with you britexpat! let me just add, it might be that the parents who are really suffering from mental illness!!! becoz no parents would like to see their child/children doing or committing such thing!
Even in the case of negligent partents a child of 7 should not be commiting such brutal acts, it's not "natural" The parents should be punished but it's the child the focus needs to be on. He should be taken from the parents and instiutionalized.
Echo, hes seven and his mother watched him commit these acts without stopping him. I dont think hes a psycho, hes a child who has been allowed to get away with "murder, with no parenting or quidelines.

Mental illness is not always the parents fault. Especially in the case of sociopaths.
i'd say a psycho in the making... now the theme music is playing in my head... :P
The parents definately should be held responsible, hes only seven.
p.s welcome back Brit..
I think this kid will become a good scientist one day. He already knows that one experiment is not enough to verify a theory, so he made sure he had a broader sample.
The child is already a serial killer, he needs start receiving psychological treatment NOW as should the parents.

Its not the kid's fault, the parents should be the ones to be held accountable and punished. How can they b so impassive? They didnt react to wat the kid was doin!
U guys r right, this must b the effect of some psychological problem the kid has. It is to b seen if this problem can b fixed by shrinks and wat this kid turns out to b in future. Hope not a serial killer or somethin!

unfortunately , the PC brigade won't allow it.
However, perhaps the parents of this moron can be put in a zoo enclosure for a couple of weeks and allowed to be abused / ridiculed by visitors.
This child obviously suffers from some kind of psychopathic behaviour. The blank expression on his face as he killed the animals? The child should be institutionlized immediately.
... it'll save on expensive court cases later ;o)
Did you Google it first?
Hmm, they say that common childhood behavior of serial killers is to inflicty pain and even brutally kill small animals... scary thought.

what?....parents were just standing there watching.....
they should be punished ......
"The zoo's security system, which relies on sensors, probably did not detect the boy because he is so small." That's definitively a flaw. An adult can crawl on the ground and won't be detected? Amateurs!
Wow... poor kid, crap parents.
