Dear all

On thursday that is 18th I was driving car in front of Souq Area. Actually I had parked my car in the parking after I finished my shopping took the car and tried leave the from the exit. As I am new here I could not distinguish between parking and the road. And perhaps I crossed the divider and was caught suddenly by the police.

He gave me the Traffic Violation ticket. As I have Qatar license and all other documents right so there was no problem.

And the Police told me that fine will be for 300 to 500 maximum.

But now when I checked the internet for traffic violations. It is showing 6000 qr.

And morever I am leaving for vacation on 30th for Idd Holidays.

Please tell me if I appeal in court are there any chances of traffic fine reducing.

Check the date and place of violation, if it's not 18th, surely u jumped off the red light.

What I know is that you can go for your vacation without paying the fine. They will stop you from travelling if you are leaving the country and not returning back.

Check with them first before you pay the fine. I am sure that the 6000 is for the red light as mentioned earlier.

Wish you all the best.

I am most sure of the following:

* your 300-500 QR fine is not yet on the web, as it takes from 1 day to 3 months to show up !?.

* the 6000 Qr is a fine for passing a red light, some time some where, which you did not notice.

Thus you will need to pay it and wait for the other fine when you come back from your Eid vacation

Happy Eid every one

Why 6000.00???? Go to Traffic department immediately. What is the reason they mention on the website to pay 6000.00??

Go to Murur soon and avoid POINTS

Are you sure you didn't run a red light? That is the fine for blowing a stop light. Better check!! Don't let others drive your vehicle as you are responsible unless you have hard evidence that someone else was driving at the time of the ticket or they admit to it!!!

Sometimes the information on the internet is not accurate so better check with the traffic department & confirm the amount. Does it say on the website what you did? By doing such thing, i dont know what traffic department are trying to do, control the traffic voilations to avoid accidents or scare drivers to drive.

going to court

here can take FOREVER. I have a friend whose case is now over 2 years old. They keep shuffling her from one court to another. It's ridiculous. Better for you to pay the fine. But why is it 6,000?

PAY the FINE, otherwise, spend the EID Holiday here. Overspeeding, AFAIK, has been increased to QR10k plus Imprisonment, because they consider it a High-risk violation.

Drive defensively! Obey the traffic law.
