shouldn't they give a good example instead?

MOTORISTS FLOUTING SEAT BELT LAW
Published: Tuesday, 16 September, 2008, 02:11 AM Doha Time

Several motorists, especially those driving luxury
vehicles, are breaking the law by not wearing their seat belts, a random survey conducted by Gulf Times shows.

This is in stark contrast to the situation when the new traffic law came into force in October 2007 warranting heftier fines and even jail for violations. Though every motorist could be seen wearing seat belt for some months thereafter, of late it seems that the initial enthusiasm has waned and many are conveniently flouting the law.

Especially Expat Lady Drivers must be banned from driving in Qatar. They are horrible drivers and main cause for the accidents :(

"Several motorists"???

I'd say it's more like MOST motorists don't wear seatbelts. The reason so many are "flouting the law" is because the law is not being enforced by the police.

top tips

hazard lights - when you put these on it doesn't create a de facto parking

do not park on a slip road

it isn't safe to drive 45kms per hour in the middle lane of 80km per hour road

dont drive on pavements

Now you would think the above were obvious but NO!

you can add to your list: make sure that they use correct indicator... coz you'll see plenty drivers out there, indicating left for example, then they go right...
