I am married. My husband is possibly getting a job in Doha. I want to find something when I get there - I'm a solicitor. How difficult with this be? I've heard that I will automatically get a passport entry prohibiting work. Are there many expat solicitors in gainful employment?
StephF - what 3omar said is absolutly correct. My wife has change jobs several times because she is under my sponcership. you can find a job as an understudy to a local atterney and find your way up.
P.S. lot of companies like to hire ladies with husband's sponcership rather than sponcering them :)
Don't get your own visa even if you can. You can get sponsored by your husband. This will be perfect for you and him. Usually the housing supplementary for families is much higher than bachelors (Put in mind rent is really high). So your husband can make an impressive extra amount. Most of the time that extra allowance is not given till the family is in the country under his sponsorship.
On the other hand, you can work without having to change sponsors. And there is a big advantage there, you can work, and also change jobs!
Changing jobs is usually very hard if you have your own visa. Most of the time, even if you get a sponsor release, immigration will reject the transfer. Which by then means you lost your sponsor and you can't get a new one...therefore you have 2 weeks to leave.
Yes, I am an attorney. I read on a different website that most women coming with their husbands have this type of entry on their passports. Not true? Is legal work obtainable for expats? Thanks in advance for any comments.
