The Traffic!

Gye
By Gye

Ok guys, lets hear it! How bad is the traffic there? Are you late a lot because of it? Is the government doing anything about it that will matter in the near future? Shall I bring my Merc C Class or is it going to be trashed?

Thanks all for your help,

Gye

Fatcat, you should be extremely worried if "you" get dents.

Sweet Fatcat, as long as you drive it's okay. It's when you park the car and shop for hours and hours. That's when the dents happen.

what choice do you have Fatcat, is not like you can just hop into a bus or train / tube to go to other places conveniently.

With all the road dag up everywhere, driving in Doha is really a pain ...

By Fatcat• 5 Sep 2008 16:43

MD, that's what we're doing wrong... We're actually driving the cars :)

my brand new SUV now has three big dents (happened while it was parked), a huge scratch on the passenger side (no idea where that came from)and the paint on the rear bumper has been scraped off - all of this in a month even though I drive carefully (but not everyone does!).

be extra careful while driving and parking in Doha. you can minimize the risk of having dent on your car.

dents, scratches, dings, bashes ARE goingto happen. My hubby is the world's most careful with his 750 bmw but even in just parking lots, he's gotten huge scratches and dents from others raking their grocery carts or car doors into it...

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

lol Fatcat ... you should see my car ....

By Fatcat• 5 Sep 2008 12:37

It totally depends on what time you want to go out. Traffic at night is terrible. At 7am, it's ok.

No matter what car you have here, it'll get dented and scratched. That's a guarantee.

Btw, I love when I see adds on QL that says: as good as new, no dents or scratches. Sorry, I just don't believe that!
