If the salary is free of all your expenses,ie accom, food, that only leaves you money to do what you want to do on time off, and this is sufficient. If you are single, and have no commitments back home, take it and forget those on this blogg, who say the cost of living in Qatar is high, as you're effectively immune from that if your accom and food, transport costs are already accounted for from the company.

The experience of working in a project like the ShellPearl GTL will look good with future projects and you'll easily get a better paying job when the time comes.

I think it would be a good exposure especially for the fact that you are just building your career.

For the salary, it is up to you if that's what you have agreed with your company. It's not bad though.

As per your career, it's good place to start.. you would probably be working with QP and Shell which are great companies. I think the experience you would gain is worthwhile.

You dont have to be nervous. Just be assertive that's all.

it is ok for newbies.

But 'cause housing is terrible high and inflation is crazy, be sure that you are covered in this side by company.

Qatar is expensive in Housing Food & Medical. I believe these are being taken care by company so far as you are bachelor.

You will have problems once you are married.

But as you are fresh and If you are not planning to marry in coming two years then you have good opportunity to gain experience from this company and then switch to some high package which will be possible with the experience attained in whole Gulf.

Wish you good luck!!!

Dear Tariq,

Advanced wishes.

You are a fresh grad and this is your beginning. Your offer is fine. Just go ahead without 2nd thought. Many ppl I know thrive to get a job in industrialized projects whereas you have got one, that too from a recognized company.

Everybody loves to choose a job which is demanding and rewarding. Your job, though not very well rewarded, but is of great demand.

In future, when your CV shows your experiences in such well recognized projects, trust me, you are well off that time.

Learn a lot, gain experience, mark my words brother, you will be comfortable in your mid 30's.

Go ahead with this reward.

Package wise its good. CCC will give you great exposure and you should learn max in least amount of time. Then quit after 2 yrs and go for companies in Abu Dhabi. If u want to rise in career then change after 2 yrs is a must.

All the best.

i would advise to you not to think twice.. since the most expesive things in qatar (accomodation, food and transport) is being taken care by the company. so the salary u draw goes for saving.. and that too the job profile is great to start with the GTL. so great career start professiona and in everyway. so all the best and dont be offended, Qatar is great place to be. Welcome to Qatar.

My friend.

The salary is low. If you get housing allowance and transport and medical allowance which i believe you would, then it is allright if you are a bachelor. The 5250 is enough for your paying a car loan and your food. YOu might be left with 1500 riyals at the end of the month.

The things you must look into b4 u come here is the time you would spend in finding accommodation. First of all, your Residence Permit is the first hurdle. I hear the time it takes to process depends upon nationality. Unfortunately, your nationality comes 5th in the attention they give in processing it. Without an RP, you are sort of paralysed. YOu can't rent a place, apply for a licence, open a bank account. You need to discuss these with your employer what would happen to you should your RP take long. But once your RP is granted, everything comes fairly easy.

Goodluck in your career. You really need the support of your company.
