I know that a man and a woman living together when they arent married is illegal. What happens if they are caught?

Also, if the woman falls pregnant, can she receive antenatal care at the hospitls here or is there a penalty? Is this a crime? What happens?

Advice would be great thank you:)

thank you everyone. Thank you huyenqatar your post was very helpful. My friend would not be giving birth here she would be going back to Australia so from what you are saying it would be ok. I tried to call Al Ahli hopsital yesterday but there was no answer so i will have to try again just to confirm.

Thank you again:)

If you found out you’re pregnant might as well go back to your country right away before things get complicated for you here in Qatar. I know someone in Bahrain (still a muslim country), she passed the x-ray scanner from the airport coz the baby was still undeveloped.

And if happen to be your fiancé and you are not muslims you can get married here just for the sake of legalities then you could raise your baby here. (Just a suggestion)

leave the country before you start showing and take a very long vacation. If the manager is the father, ask him...or more like tell him you'll be working remotely.

When my brother got married last year, my sister-in-law did not change her sponsorship from father to husband. When she got pregnant this year, she had to change sponsorship to my brother in order to get her pregnancy recognized as legal.

It actually states in the publication Marhaba that it is illegal for a woman to have a baby in Qatar out of wedlock. As for fines and punishment then I don't know, but I wouldn't want to find out either.
